- Quick Entry Suggestion Box now sorts words by frequency with most frequent at top with a count. It also will now allow references with periods after the book abbreviation, such as "Gal. 3.13"
A new Contextual Search function with its own tab in MCP which searches within predefined contextual ranges such as chapter context, AV paragraph context, three other paragraph contexts, verse context, phrase context, and a re-built Proximity Search. Results can be compressed to show only the verses with hits. This replaces the previous Proximity Search tab.
A redesigned Bible Layout with links on both sides of the heading to the previous and next chapters, with popup preview. Also, a next link at the bottom. The prev/next verse, chapter and book buttons have been removed from the Bible Toolbar.
When the Bible Page has focus, the left/right arrow keys will navigate to prev/next chapters. The up/down keys will navigate the verses.
The click actions on the Bible page have been changed where a click on a word will not make that verse the active/current verse. If the Shift key is down when clicked it will become active (as was the previous default action). Left-clicking on the verse reference at the beginning of the line will make that verse the current verse and cause it to highlight.
A new Download Manager will allow downloading of free modules directly into the proper Bible Analyzer module folders. It is found under the new Modules/Module Download Manager menu. It functions similar to the Session Manager. If the cursor is over a title for a moment a popup will display info. If the Ctrl key is down and a title row clicked, a new window will display the info. The popups are disabled when the second window is open. Desired items must be checked. (Premium modules cannot yet be directly downloaded, but we are working on a process to incorporate the ability in a future version.)
There are several new free modules available for download.
The User Notes Editor can now be unsynced from the current Bible reference. Syncing is on by default but when unsynced, by toggling off the toolbar Sync Button, the editor will remain linked to the current Notes reference even if the current Bible reference is changed. When the button is toggled on, the current Notes reference will become the current Bible reference. Any changes to the notes will be automatically saved.
The User Notes Editor also has a new Verse List similar to the Verse List available with the other non-editible commentaries. The list can be searched and references selected like the other commentaries. Any selection from the list will make that the current Notes reference regardless of the position of the Sync Button.
Added a Paragraph View mode to the Bible Panel. If a text has paragraph markers, the paragraphs will be formatted accordingly. If the text does not have markers, a paragraph indexing method can be selected under the new Options II Preferences tab.
In Paragraph View Text-to-Speech and synchronized Audio Playback will highlight the paragraph instead of the current verse. The current or active reference will be blue in color within the highlighted paragraph.
In Paragraph View the current verse can be selected by clicking the verse number between brackets (i.e. [3]). Right-clicking on the number will display the Context Menu for the verse. Right-clicking on a word will only display the Context Menu data for the word. In standard Verse View right-clicking on a word will display both verse and word data as before.
User note indicators (*) are now visible in the Bible Panel when a verse has an associated user note. The indicator will be immediately after the verse reference and will display a preview of the note on mouseover. When the indicator is clicked, the corresponding entry will be displayed in the Notes Editor.
User Notes can now be directly exported to Module Creator. If Export User Notes is selected in the Tools Menu the notes will be saved to user-notes.txt in the users /Documents/Bible Analyzer User Modules folder (root folder for portable installation) and a dialog will be displayed giving the option to send the data to Module Creator. In Module Creator the file path, tab data, and title data fields will be prepopulated.
Installation and Testing
We have compiled a special Portable edition of the 4.8 beta to make installation simple. Just download and run this file,
http://www.bibleanalyzer.com/bibleanaly ... -setup.exe.
It will by default extract the files to a Bible Analyzer 4 Portable (beta) folder on your Desktop. The folder can be moved anywhere you wish but must be moved intact. To run the beta just run the file bibleanalyzer4.exe in the above folder.
We have updated the AV (KJV) Bible in the installation. It now includes paragraph markers, chapter headings, and more accurate footnote indicator placement. It is also available in the downloader.
If errors are encountered, just let the error dialog send the report to us. Please send a concise description of what you were doing when the error occurred.
Thanks to all who test this beta. If you have any problems or questions, just post here or send us an email.
