5.2 Beta (linux) Larkin books have no pictures
5.2 Beta (linux) Larkin books have no pictures
I looked in the images directory under text and they are there, but they do not display.

This is probably a path case issue. Try renaming the images folder Images or vice-versa.

That did not work. I then created links to Text and Images for all lower-case and then restarted BA and it still did not work.Tim wrote:This is probably a path case issue. Try renaming the images folder Images or vice-versa.
This is not a show stopper, I can still view them with the image viewer. Just not in-line in the books.

Re: 5.2 Beta (linux) Larkin books have no pictures
I looked at the hrefs in the book file via strings and found this is the path that they are looking for:
modules/text/images/LarkinDT/33.weeks.gif
So of did links (symbolic) to Text -> text and also Images -> images and it still does not work. I think you might have other code looking or pointing elsewhere. If you are going to support cross platform, Linux and MacOS are case sensitive, I don't think windows is when it comes to path decelerations. You might want to check all your source code and do a bulk case change lower or upper, and see if that does not solve some of the issues you have been having.
This might not be because of you, it would be wxpython or some library that is causing the issue. I have run into this before using 3rd party libs. It's a pane if it is someone else’s code, then you have to check it every rev unless you can get them to fix the issue.
Oh the joys of code.

What distro of Linux are you using?

Re: 5.2 Beta (linux) Larkin books have no pictures
Just to help here a bit. On Ubuntu-Mate 18.04 Beta 2 I have the same thing - no pictures show, just the blurred thing that Mitch was showing. My setup uses whatever default path BA installs with. When I look at the linkage using DB Browser the link shows as "<img alt="" src="modules/text/images/LarkinDT/0-cover.jpg" height="198" width="199">". So I have tried ordering the path to match the linkage but still did not work.

I uploaded a new beta (same link) that fixes this issue, I believe. It also will play mp3 and wav files, but not midi. It seems the media control developers are getting away from midi files.

Re: 5.2 Beta (linux) Larkin books have no pictures
I'm running the most current (Linux) beta on Ubuntu Mate 20.04. I am having this problem as well; "pictures" appear as large pixelated "squares" for lack of a better term. Pictures in all other books appear as they should.
